Mom of twins, but I am normal too:When I am seen with my three year old twins, Harrison and Arya, the typical reaction responses are "wow you must have your hands full" and "how do you do it?" I cannot even tell you the number of times I have been asked how do I do it.I normally just smile and say yes they keep me busy, or mention that two is my normal so I don't know a difference. What I really want to say or sometimes even yell, is "I am a normal mom how do you think I handle it!" Yes I joke around sometimes about my life compared to "singleton moms", but my life as a first time mom is the same for any first time mom. For me, my two is just as hard and easy as one.I am a normal mom. I adjusted to newborn life, I struggled breastfeeding, had sleepless nights, changed diapers, learned what cry meant what, soaked in the sweet smiles, felt my heart flutter as their tiny hands would reach for mine. I rejoiced with them at their milestones, and cried when they got shots. I … [Read more...] about Just like you… times two.

Some days, right from the start, you are ready for nap time... silence. Maybe a moment where all of your kids are asleep, no one knocks on your door, phone on silent and you can rest. Heck let's be honest, there are days you want to hide in the bathroom for an ounce of alone time. Every parent has been there, if you haven't I want to know your secret!Days you have a to-do list a mile long, a hard day at work and you come home to an attached child: needing you and only you.Yes, some days parenting is hard.Society, social media; make us feel like we aren't good enough. With all of the confusion, hate and negativity going around our country and social media I want to focus on what I'm thankful for. To stay positive during the chaos.... focus on what's truly important. I'm thankful for the right to vote, I may not agree with every decision made. But I have a say in what happens in our country, states and even our hometowns and that's important. Times have changed drastically since I was a kid. Social media has brought bullying to a whole new level. It's terrifying thinking of my kids going to school... to be subject to such hate. I will teach my children to be kind, help those in need, to be thankful for what they have and stay humble. We, as parents, can significantly change the negativity in the world. After all... they learn by watching you, looking up to you. You're their hero, it's time to rise above... it's time to be better. Our children deserve that.Even after all of the controversy I wake up to a beautiful sunrise, a faithful husband, two … [Read more...] about Thankful
